INTRODUCTION :
Based partially on Chow ( 1, 2 ) we analyze mathematically the
60 Options, that can exist in the different shots that the tennis
player faces ( or that he can hit ) “ in each point “.
COURT APPLICATION :
Allows the coach or the player to study them, with the idea
of make it easier to memorize it – based on mathematics
– for further application on court .
DEFINITIONS :
First we establish their :
a) Place in the court :
- Near
the net = N
- Middle
court = M
- Near
the baseline = B
b) Side :
- Left
= L
- Center
= C
- Right
= R
c) Height :
- Low
= L
- Medium
= M
- High
= H
d) Speed :
- Slow
= S
- Medium
= M
- Fast
= F
OPTIONS COMBINATIONS :
After combining the 3 Options of Place, 3 of Side, 3 of Height,
and 3 of Speed, we obtain :
| Place and Side in the
Court |

PLAYER´S EXERCISE : ( *
This last Section must be photocopied * )
Player must answer the abbreviations, before each training
or play. Further more, the coach can use a chronometer to
compare the time. Theoretically, it must be done each time
faster, which would mean that step by step, all this concepts
have been memorized and therefore; they will – automatically
– be applied on court. This must afterwards, be reflected
in tournament´s results.
